Wayne Sleep

born: 1948

English. Started studying with Muriel Carr and the Royal Ballet School. Joined Royal Ballet in 1966 and became a principal dancer.

He had an incredible jump and spin. In 1973 he established a world record by doing an entrechat douze - a jump with six beats. The record still stands to this day.

Danced many roles including a solo in Jazz Calendar, and David in David and Goliath. He also acts. Acting credits include Tigger in Winnie the Pooh and Villiers in Soldiers. His choreography credits include David and Goliath.
