To become a dancer by the literal definition of the word all that one has to do is dance, but to become a professional ballet dancer one has to take several years of training. Dancers are a very special breed of people. They need to be because in order to get through the training, the rehearsal, and the injuries, they have to have an iron will. If someone wants to become a professional ballet dancer he or she should probably start taking ballet at the best school he or she can find, and start auditioning to get into a professional programme.
